What you can expect from Mero Counselor, and what Mero Counselor expects from you — in plain words, before you agree to anything.

This is a plain-language draft, not the finished legal document. The full text is with our lawyers and will replace this page before Mero Counselor opens more widely. It is written to be honest about how the product actually works — but it is not final, and nothing here is legal advice. If something on this page matters to your decision, ask us before you sign up.
What Mero Counselor is
Mero Counselor is a study-abroad counselling product for Nepali students. It listens to your situation, answers your questions, keeps track of where you stand, and — when you ask it to — connects you to a human counsellor at a counselling office you choose.
Mero Counselor is guidance, not a guarantee. It does not decide admissions, grant visas, or speak on behalf of any university, embassy or government office. Treat what it tells you as a well-informed starting point, not as a decision that has been made.
Your account
You sign in with your phone number. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you, so keep the number to yourself and tell us if you lose access to it.
If you are not old enough to enter into a contract in Nepal, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms on your behalf.
What you tell us
You give us your name, your phone number, the documents you upload, and what you say in conversation — typed or spoken.
Give us real information. A counsellor reading the wrong marksheet gives the wrong advice, and Mero Counselor cannot tell the difference. Do not upload documents that are not yours.
The counselling office
When you book a visit or a call, we share your documents and a summary of where you stand with the office you picked, so you do not have to explain yourself twice. That sharing is the point of the booking — it is not a side effect of it.
The counselling office is a separate business. Its advice, its fees and its promises are its own, and Mero Counselor is not a party to them.
What we ask of you
Use Mero Counselor for your own study-abroad plans. Do not try to break it, scrape it, resell it, or use it to mislead an office, a university or another student.
We may close an account that is being used that way. If we do, we will tell you why.
When things change
Mero Counselor is early, and it will keep moving. This page will move with it. If a change affects something you have already agreed to, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
