What we hold about you, why we hold it, and who else gets to see it. Your documents are the most personal thing you will hand us, so this page comes first.

This is a plain-language draft, not the finished legal document. The full text is with our lawyers and will replace this page before Mero Counselor opens more widely. We have written it to describe what the product actually does today — but it is not final, and it makes no claim to satisfy any particular law or standard. Ask us before you sign up if something here matters to you.
What we collect
Your name and your phone number, so we know who you are and a counsellor can reach you.
The documents you upload — passport, marksheets, test scores, financial papers, whatever you choose to add — and the details we read out of them so they can fill your checklist.
Your conversations with Mero Counselor, including what you say in voice mode.
Why we collect it
Your name and number identify you and let a counsellor call you about a booking you made.
Your documents fill your application checklist, so nobody asks you for the same paper twice.
Your conversations are what let Mero Counselor answer you in context instead of starting from nothing every time you open it.
Who else sees it
The counselling office you choose. When you book a visit or a call, we share your documents and a summary of where you stand with that office, so you can walk in and start talking instead of explaining yourself again. No other office sees them.
The service providers who store your files and run the model behind the conversation. They handle your data on our instructions and for us — not for themselves.
We do not sell your data, and we do not hand it to anyone else to advertise to you.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. Ask us to delete your account and we will delete what we hold, other than records we are required to keep.
What you can do
Every document we hold is visible to you in My Documents, and you can remove any of them there.
You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and everything in it to be deleted, by writing to us.
Keeping it safe
Your documents sit in private storage and are shown to you through short-lived links, so a copied URL stops working. No system is perfect — if something about your account looks wrong to you, tell us straight away.
